Iodine is a health care company focused on helping people make better decisions about prescription drugs. I was responsible for everything related to design for Iodine including product.
Making it easier for users to find prescription drug alternatives
The drug alternative pages was one of the highest trafficked pages on Iodine that ranked high for SEO. We wanted update the design to improve traffic and SEO. The redesigned pages performed better and increased overall session time (nearly doubled) and traffic for iodine. See the mobile prototype and desktop prototype.
Improving the visibility and conversion of drug pricing coupons
One of the biggest reasons for improving drug discount coupon conversions was to help users get savings on their prescription drugs. This project was also crucial because coupon redemptions are directly tied to increasing overall revenue for the company. Designing a new flow improved conversion rates from 2% to 5% (organic traffic and non-organic traffic). See the mobile prototype and desktop prototype.
Asking a pharmacist about prescription drugs
We wanted to see if we could build a service that gave users access to a team of pharmacists to answer any questions they had on prescription drugs. When we shipped it, the idea had much higher engagement than we anticipated! We ultimately decided to shut it down because we didn’t have the full resources to respond within a guaranteed 48 hour period. See the mobile prototype and desktop prototype.
Making prescription drugs information more accessible
We wanted to make our prescription drug information more accessible and useful to people in a more versatile format. We ended up partnering with doctors to send drug fact sheets in GoodRx doctor kits. I paired up with an engineer to scale this out on thousands of prescription drugs. See a sample PDF Fact Sheet.
Improving the blog
Besides the useful prescription drug information and content we had on Iodine, we also wanted to integrate other content on our blog that wouldn’t fit in the current structure of the site. See the blog.
Experimenting with health condition information
Since Iodine was mostly focused on prescription drug information and content, we wanted to see if we could expand to health conditions. We ended up cancelling the project since a company reorganization happened and our team at Iodine shifted our focus to GoodRx.
Stickers
For every shipped product/feature that required a substantial amount of effort, I would create and get stickers printed to give to my team. Here are a few that I’ve done.
